Gumpaste Hydrangea flowers make up the centers of this wedding cake. A total of 40 full heads and 63 small heads of flowers were created to cover 6" Styrofoam blocks in graduating sizes. One full head of Hydrangea requires 12 individual centers and 4 petals, the small head requires 9 centers and 4 petal, for a grand total of 1,047 individual centers and flowers. All four of the natural flower colors were incorporated into the final design.
The 16", 12" and 8" square cakes were white with a fresh raspberry compote atop white chocolate mousse. At the base of each tier was a navy blue fondant ribbon. The final design served 150 quest.
