My photo
Julia Armstrong, Pastry Chef
My mother owned and operated a catering business that serviced presidents and dignitaries, as well as, broadway theater and soap opera actors. Needless to say, I grew up in the food industry surrounded by many interesting people. Around age 12, I became totally engulfed in a new magazine for cake decorating called the Wilton Yearbook. I have every yearbook dating back to 1969. My passion was creating works of art in all forms, but working with sugar and flour quickly became the next level for me. I went from prepping and serving at events, to creating extravagant show pieces, often the focal point of these functions. After high school, I served four years in the Marine Corp. During that time, I met and married my husband. We returned to his hometown in western Pennsylvania to raise our twin sons. I worked as an office manager for several years before taking the leap into the business full time. 2016 marks my 24th year as a full time pastry chef. I love my job and I look forward to baking for you!
